What You Need To Know
Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG) has entered a significant agreement with Allied Green Ammonia to supply three gigawatts of electrolyzer capacity for a new green hydrogen-to-ammonia facility in Australia. This venture aligns with initiatives aimed at producing clean energy, as the plant will leverage a 4.5 gigawatt solar installation to power the electrolyzers with zero-emission electricity. The electrolyzers will help convert green hydrogen into green ammonia, meeting rising demand from sectors such as agriculture and energy storage.
Following a scheduled final investment decision in the second quarter of 2025, Plug Power is set to begin manufacturing and delivering its advanced Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyzers by early 2027. This project, noted as one of the largest global green ammonia facilities, is structured to foster long-term partnerships, generate local employment, and significantly reduce carbon emissions. Plug Power is positioning itself as a leader in the green hydrogen economy by integrating production, storage, and distribution solutions to facilitate a successful transition to net-zero emissions.
